Colin Farrell, The Lobster

Ireland’s Colin Farrell was a fan of the 2009 film Dogtooth from Greece’s surrealist writer-director Yorgos Lanthimos, so when the filmmaker’s first English language project The Lobster surfaced, he jumped aboard. What Farrell didn’t know was that Lanthimos would ask him to grow a mustache and gain 45 pounds to better play a suddenly single man who in this bizarrely humorous world must find a mate or be transformed into the animal of his choice.
