Clocktower People & Project Updates 2014
A collection of interviews recorded in our studios during the Second Sundays festivities at Pioneer Works in November 2014, featuring old and new friends, performers, and artist residents of the Clocktower.
First up, David Weinstein hosts musician Lea Bertucci to talk about her Issue Project Room residency and producing a multi-channel audio festival at Knockdown Center. Bertucci has performed several times in Clocktower programs.
Then Joe Ahearn hosts artist and filmmaker Cooper Holoweski, whose multidisciplinary work touches on themes of memory and landscape. They discuss past and future projects. Holoweski is in the Clocktower sights for a future project.
David Weinstein with photographer Laura Heymann, organizer of the Pro/Deuce panel held at the Clocktower and elsewhere. Heymann discusses the rise of "Social Practice" both as a term and a mode of artistic production over the past several years, and how the term has eclipsed and/or consumed other modes, including performance, political and activist art practice.
Joe Ahearn with the cast and crew of Dreary Coast, an immersive theatrical work on the banks of the Gowanus Canal. With actors E. James Ford, Theresa Buchheister, Coco Conroy, producer Suchan Vodoor, set designer Nick Chatfield-Taylor, costume deisgner Sarah McMillan, and engineer Mike O'Toole. Chatfield-Taylor was a Clocktower resident artist in 2012.
Recorded during Pioneer Works Second Sundays open house and INTERCOURSE publication celebration in November 2014.
