Chris Cooper, Silver City
Oscar-winner as Best Supporting Actor for Adaptation in 2002, Chris Cooper began his movie career with John Sayles' 1987 film, Matewan, and the two have been friends ever since. Now Cooper is starring (with Darryl Hannah) in his fourth Sayles film, Silver City, as a dim-witted political candidate favoring industry over the environment (any resemblance to the current President might just be intentional). Cooper discusses his career, his friendship with the director, his son's cerebral palsy, and his work as an active spokesman for the handicapped.
