Rio de Janeiro-based Chico Dub is a curator, cultural producer, and artistic director focusing on experimental music, new trends, and vanguard music. As the founder and curator of the Novas Frequencias festival since 2011, Chico Dub has collaborated with festivals such as Sonar, Electronika, SESI Cultural Digital, and Red Bull. Among many important projects, Chico has coordinated cultural programs at Rio’s new MIS (Sound and Image Museum) being also the curator behind the influential Hy Brazil compilations that maps and promotes innovative and experimental sounds from Brazil. Chico Dub is also the creator and writer of Dub Echoes, the first feature documentary about the importance of Jamaican Dub music on Hip Hop and Electronic music.
