Charles Harlan and David Everitt Howe, Flood

Curator David Everitt Howe and artist Charles Harlan walk listeners through their exhibition, Flood, on view at Pioneer Works, January - February, 2016. Flood includes a 10-foot by 10-foot brick cube, with a basin of water inside, a chain link fence draping 33 feet from the ceiling, and roofing shingles tiled on the floor to walk on. In their interview, the pair discuss the development of their professional relationship since they first crossed paths in 2006, Harlan's fascination with historically enigmatic artistic creations, such as the pyramids of Egypt and the Nazca lines of Peru, and translating the works in the installation from a suburban vernacular, into an urban context.

Harlan received his BS from New York University in 2006.
