Channing Tatum, Fighting
Hollywood is betting if not the bank then a bundle on Channing Tatum.
The ex-model, who won comparisons to Marlon Brando in 2006 with his
award-nominated performance in Dito Montiel’s A Guide to
Recognizing Your Saints, now stars in Fighting, a reunion with Montiel in a role shaped expressly for him. As of this Spring 2009 interview, he was prepped to hit the summer franchise field
with G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra and then follow that - much as the similarly touted Ryan Gosling did
with The Notebook - by starring in Dear John, a triple hankie film
adaptation of one of those unabashedly corny but very commercial
Nicholas Sparks novels (15 minutes).
