Briggan Krauss: Object

Saxophonist, electronic musician, and composer Briggan Krauss has been involved in the New York music scene since 1994. He has performed and recorded with the New York Composer's Orchestra, John Zorn, Ikue Mori, and Skuli Sverrisson. In addition to studio projects, he often performs live.

Here Krauss presents Object, selections from a series dedicated and inspired by the work of visual artists. Object #1 is comprised of pieces dedicated to the work of the American artist Joseph Cornell. Object #2 (Systems) is music from a collaboration with visual artist Raha Raissnia. Source material comes from recordings of acoustic instruments, found objects, and sounds created or manipulated in Reaktor and Max/MSP.

RADIO SERIES

A series of programs produced by the composer Elliott Sharp from his own collection of works that have influenced, energized, or otherwise occupied his earspace and imagination; from African chanting to Japanese noise to avant-garde concert music. Many of the segments were assembled for the former radio station of P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center (now MoMA/PS1) between 2004 and 2006.
