Bobby Houston and Robert Hudson, Mighty Times: The Children's March
Bobby Houston and Robert Hudson were awarded the 2005 Academy Award for Best Documentary Short for Mighty Times: The Children's March. It was their second nomination, having been honored previously for 2003's Mighty Times: The Legacy of Rosa Parks. When we caught up with the duo on the red carpet on Oscar day, Hudson said the real triumph was "Still being in love, still being together, years later." Funded by the Southern Poverty Law Center and made available to schools and educators nationwide, more information can be found about this rousing look at the 1963 Birmingham, Alabama, civil rights march at the Southern Poverty Law Center website.
