Blue is the Warmest Color, Adèle Exarchopoulos

Adèle Exarchopoulos, just 19, has become an international cinematic sensation with her breakout performance in Abdellatif Kechiche's coming-of-age love story Blue is the Warmest Color. Exarchopoulos stars as a French teenager who becomes tangled in a tsunami of emotional highs and lows when she meets and falls for the blue-haired Emma (Lea Seydoux). Controversial for its three hour length and the two actress' intensely explicit, seven minute sex scene, the NC-17 rated Blue was nonetheless awarded with Palme d’Or, the highest honor at the Cannes Film Festival.

Exarchopoulos discusses the rare and unexpected move of the Cannes Jury in awarding the Palme d'Or to she and Seydoux, along with the director. She also talks about how she got into the film world, the unique and rare qualities of Blue, her parents thoughts on the film, meeting Lea Seydoux (and their subsequent sex scene), and more.
