Bill T. Jones, Live Ideas
Bill T. Jones--artistic director, world-renowned choreographer, dancer, theater director and writer--joined Clocktower Radio’s Jeannie Hopper to discuss Live Ideas: SKY - Force and Wisdom in America Today curated by Laurie Anderson in conjunction with Jones. The 2015 season features five days (April 15-19) of musical performances, lectures, original dance works, panels, a late-night lounge and more, to activate the New York City community to creatively question the direction of modern culture. It includes such artists as Vito Acconci, Pauline Oliveros, Reverend Billy, John Zorn, Lou Reed and more. They also discuss the importance of arts and culture, and community engagement touching on New York "then and now" and what’s at stake moving forward.
Bill T. Jones is the artistic director, cofounder, and choreographer of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company and artistic director of New York Live Arts. He is the recipient of many awards and honors, including Tony Awards for FELA! and Spring Awakening, a Kennedy Center Honor, and a MacArthur Fellowship.
