Benoit Jacquot, Three Hearts

Writer-director Benoit Jacquot’s beguiling Three Hearts renews the classic archetype of a romantic triangle with Charlotte Gainsbourg and Chiara Mastroianni as sisters who both unknowingly fall in love with Belgium’s Benoit Poelvoorde.

In the 2015 February's Berlin Film Festival Jacquot’s newest film premiered, Diary of a Chambermaid, a reunion for the filmmaker with his Farewell, My Queen star Lea Seydoux in this, the third film version of Octave Mirbeau's novel. In March, a retrospective of Benoit's films was carried out for the Rendez-Vous with French Cinema annual series at the Lincoln Center.

NOTE: The interview is conducted in English and French.
