Antony
During this classic 2004 heavenly half-hour with the angelic-voiced crooner and performance artist known as Antony, Frances Sorensen elicits two of the silky-smooth vocalist's signature tunes, namely "I Fell in Love with a Dead Boy," and a live recording of "The Lake," which he adapted from Edgar Allan Poe. While listening to these evocative pieces by Antony and the Johnsons, Antony and Frances discuss the chamber pop ensemble's EPs, the magical realism of Antony's favorite artists rising out of the 90s, and his experience touring Turning, a synthesis of Antony's songs and film pioneer Charles Atlas' video portraiture.
