Andrea Riseborough, Shadow Dancer

The steady rise of England's Andrea Riseborough can be attributed to talent, hard work and stamina: she never seems to stop working. The classically trained RADA grad has progressed from scene-stealers like the dewy ingènue in Brighton Rock to the crafty Duchess of Windsor for Madonna's W.E. to her diverse current trio: opposite Tom Cruise in the sci-fi Oblivion,as a compromised TV reporter in Disconnect and here as a captured 1990s IRA terrorist turned informer in Shadow Dancer. Then comes Hidden, a horror thriller opposite Alexander Skarsgârd, and the all-star comedy by Mexico's Alejandro González Iñárritu Birdman with Naomi Watts, Emma Stone, Edward Norton, Michael Keaton, and Zach Galifianakis.
