Afro-Brazilian Sounds
For the October/November 2016 Sonoridade program, host and producer Béco Dranoff invites yet another Brazilian music producer and specialist to create an original mixed tape with a unique take on what they are listening to, digging, and producing in modern Brazilian sounds. This time, Béco's special guest is Rio's one and only music specialist Marcello MBgroove.
Marcello MBgroove is an advertising man, curator, music producer, DJ, and member of the Vinyl Is Art collective. He is the creator of projects such as The Universality Of Black Music and Be + Tropical where he develops his research into production and DJ'ing related to the plurality and diversity of Afro-Brazilian influence in global music creation. MBgroove recently had his project Vinil É Arte Remixes released on the Natura Musical label and the 7" by singerTamy. A staunch defender of Vinyl/LP culture and a tireless researcher, MBgroove's work expresses his serious commitment to the sounds of African roots in general. He is one of the leading figures in this segment in Brasil.
This is one amazingly groovy trip into the modern roots of Afro-Brazilian sounds. Enjoy this sublime ride!
