From the Crates to Your Ears
On a disturbingly warm February Sunday afternoon DJ Richard Nixon wandered into Bene’s Record Shop to find the place bustling with customers and the bins overflowing with an eclectic selection of recently arrived records, making for a broad-ranging programme that stretches from James Chance and the Contortions to Elmore James and the sounds of the Bahian berimbau via Ramón Quián and Junior Parker. As usual, all records are in stock at the time of the original taping; the tunes go straight from the crates to your ears
