Establishing Artist Driven Spaces
Hosted at the SUNY Queens Educational Opportunity Center, this Creative Conversations meeting was joined by Ryan Gilliam, Chair of Fourth Arts Block and Artistic/Executive Director of Downtown Art; Julie Lindgren, Senior Project Manager, and Kim Ochilo, Program Associate, at Hester Street Collaborative.
Gilliam, Lindgren, and Ochilo shared their experiences with establishing artist-driven spaces with Jamaica, Queens-based artists interested in developing their own artist work and presentation spaces.
ABOUT
Creative Conversations is a signature program of the Queens Council on the Arts. It is a monthly dinner meeting hosted in different Queens neighborhoods where artists have the opportunity to network, organize, meet community stakeholders, and develop strategies for community advocacy. It is open to artists and the general public.
