The multi-instrumentalist Tara Jane O'Neil is joined by prolific drummer Ryan Sawyer in a performance weaved together with dance choreography from Jmy’s in-depth investigations into movement. Baltimore-based singer, producer, and sitarist Ami Dang opens the night. The event is presented by Clocktower within the Ant Farm/LST inflatable exhibition at Pioneer Works, September 2016.

Tara Jane O'Neil is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and visual artist. She creates melodic and experimental music under her own name and in collaboration with her talented friends. As a solo artist, TJO has released 7 albums internationally. She was a founding member of Rodan and several other bands, and has collaborated on recordings and stages with musical artists such as Ida, Mirah, Jackie O MF, Lucky Dragons, Mount Eerie, LIttle Wings, Papa M, , and Michael Hurley, Marisa Anderson, Ben Vida and many more. TJO has composed and performed music and sound for films, theater and dance performances, and written large and small ensemble experimental architectures. In addition to rock clubs, galleries and DIY spaces all around north America, Europe, and Japan, she has performed at AllTomorrow’s Parties, the Centre de Pompidou, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the New Musuem, TBA festival, High Desert Test Sites and many many others.
Jmy James Kidd has lived and worked in Los Angeles, CA since 2009. She choreographs dances with The Sunland Dancers, collaborates with musician Tara Jane O'Neil, runs a performance space called Pieter and makes garments as James Kidd Studio. In NYC she danced for luciana achugar, Nancy Meehan, Stanley Love, Sarah Michelson, Walter Dundervill, Neil Greenberg and apprenticed with the Cunningham Company.
Ryan Sawyer is a drummer and percussionist from the USA. He has played with several artists and bands like, Tv On The Radio, At The Drive-In, Scarlet Johanson, Massive Attack, Boredoms (77 & 88 Boadrum), The Mekons, Thurston Moore, among others.
Amrita “Ami” Kaur Dang is a vocalist, sitarist, and composer/producer from Baltimore, MD, and her family hails from Punjab & New Delhi, India. Her sound ranges from North Indian classical fused with noise/ambient electronics to experimental dancepop. As a Sikh and South-Asian American artist having been raised in the Age of the Internet, her sounds references a blend of analog and digital, traditional and contemporary, east and west, spiritual and secular. She is joined by Emily Riehl on bass, Josh Laksin Garcia on drums, and ZT Christensen on electronics, guitar, and miscellaneous instruments.
Clocktower collaborates with the radical arts and activist group LST on their fall 2016 monumental inflatable time capsule exhibition at Pioneer Works, with an audio guide and ambitious events series presented within the installation’s cocoon.
