Above the Law: Saving Lady / Pauline
On June 21, 2011 the Clocktower Gallery and ARTonAIR.org presented Saving Lady/Pauline, a film project and live music performance by the band Human Resources and the artist collective Eye Bodega.
Inspired by the marriage of chance radio sampling and psychedelic pop on Human Resources' most recent EP, Saving Lady/Pauline, Eye Bodega created a labyrinthian visual accompaniment. During their performance at the Clocktower, Human Resources and Eye Bodega will expand upon this original collaboration by employing their respective mediums, including cathode ray tube disturbances and manipulated projections in order to create a unique live feedback circle that integrates pop composition, manipulated audio, chance sampling, and live melodic elements.
Organized by the Clocktower's Curator of Performance and Installation Joe Ahearn, Above The Law is a performance and installation series highlighting young and emerging artists and musicians. Titled in reference to the various legal offices and agencies that occupy the floors in the Clocktower’s City-owned building, Above The Law challenges preconceived notions about pop and avant garde art and music by featuring artists, bands, and performers who draw from both traditions.
