Wastedland 2 : Immersive Screening at Knockdown Center
Join us for Wasteland 2, an immersive art and film installation ends its year-long national tour at Knockdown Center on Friday, September 15, 2017. Doors open at 7:00 pm, followed by performances 8:00 pm to 12:00 am and screenings of the original film at 9:00 pm and 11:00 pm.
ABOUT
Knockdown Center is pleased to present Wastedland 2, a nomadic site-specific, immersive film installation all centered around the enigmatic work of UFO 907 and thematics from the existential fantasy film of the same name.
The installation allows the viewer to enter the psychology of the film’s narrative, redefining the way one traditionally engages with film and artwork. Wastedland 2 poses questions of fate and the self, while exploring graffiti folklore through wordplay, sculpture, artifacts, and characters that appear in both the film and the installation.
ARTISTS
Participating artists include: Adam VOID, Amy Smalls, CASH4, DARKCLOUDS, EKG, George Vidas, Greg Henderson, NOXER, RAMBO, Ryan C. Doyle, SMELLS, UFO 907, William Thomas Porter, WOLFTITS. Performances by KARMA KIDS, NINJASONIC, UFHOES, UNSTOPPABLE DEATH MACHINES and more!
MORE
Following its debut in a former car plant in Detroit last September, Wastedland 2 has spent the past year touring across the U.S., in galleries, backyards, art and music festivals, under bridges and in freight train yards, mystical happenings in the desert amongst other locales.
Each iteration has included artists and new material specific to each location. This event at Knockdown Center will be the culmination and a celebration of that national tour, mirroring the industrial nature of the very first show in Detroit and playing upon the former factory’s architectural character and location.
Special thanks to the support of Knockdown Center and Clocktower in the production of this Wastedland 2 at Knockdown Center event.
