Venice 2005: Louise Bourgeois Sings

C'est le murmure de l'eau qui chante: In these recordings, originally produced as part of an installation by Brigitte Cornand, the artist Louise Bourgeois sings 22 short melodies and children's songs. Then, in a remix by Frederic Sanchez, the material is transformed into an electronic fantasy with a dance beat. The timeless songs take on a distinctly contemporary personality in this remix.
Jonas Mekas describes the original recording as, "a very happy and funny film with one single protagonist keeping theaudience on the edge of their seats...[Louise Bourgeois] talks, cracks jokes, and plays games while, at the same time, she works non-stop on the materials of her art and old tapestries."
