Stan Allen, Architect

Things are getting terribly confusing at The Interview Show! At an unveiling of a Mike Ballou sculpture at Marilyn Minter's house, Will met Stan Allen and Polly Apfelbaum (Joyce Pensato was also there). It turns out this incredible house was designed by -- and is currently being expanded by -- Stan, who is Dean of the School of Architecture, at Princeton. Allen talks to Will about the idea of developing a "style" as an architect, and his projects over the years-including the house for Minter, a chapel in the Philippines and a proposal for the New Maribor Art Gallery in Slovenia. More importantly he talks about meeting his wife, Polly Apfelbaum, and the frontier days of the art scene in downtown NYC in the early 80's.
