Alfred Hitchcock made Tippi Hedren a star in two now classic pictures, The Birds ('64) and Marnie ('65) but her relationship with the filmmaker deteriorated over his obsessive controlling desires, a subject which is dramatized in October’s HBO movie The Girl with Sienna Miller. Hedren looks back and forward to her coming Capitol Hill appearance on behalf of “big cats” – the lions and tigers she defends at her California Shambala preserve.
