Thomas Nozkowski

Having gone to Cooper Union where he had studied with Angelo Ippolitto and Nicolas Marsicano, among other known artists and teachers of the New York School (1961-1967), Thomas Nozkowski perceptively adapted their improvisational approaches and embarked on a long journey to allow his art to evolve and come into natural fruition without haste and vexation of spirit. In this segment he talks about his experience of working as an art installer at the legendary Betty Parsons Gallery, his friendship with the artist Ruth Vollmer, and other issues concerning the decades-long process that led to his identifiable styles and late recognition. Nozkowski also speaks about what lies behinds the works in his second solo exhibit.
