Sultry Swooning Session

Lush and lovely vocals in a hypnotic heady winter set in this latest edition of In the Hopper. UK's Submotion Orchestra are a new favorite group to fire up the set on into DJ Sun's "Heart Seed" from his first full length album "One Hundred". A new one from Una "We Are The Lonely" and hot artist José James with "Sword Gun" from his first album "No Beginning No End". US cultural artist ambassador Maya Azucena's beautiful "Belong to the Sun" guarantee's to warm you from her album "Cry Love", followed by David Glasper Experience's "Twice" remixed by Questlove into a long lush player and the latest from David Starfire's album "Ascend" enjoy "Indian Summer". Than taking it up a notch and quite comical Empresarios "Maria Juana" and from AfroQBen's genre bending album "Liquid Gold" "Massive Move Forward" followed by "Trip to No Where" from Uptown Funk Empire". To close out the set enjoy the latest from Bonobo "Cirrus", the title track to his new album on Ninja Tune and check out an interview with him here on our radio station and a DJ Set posted via our radio series Turntables on the Hudson with your host Nickodemus, than we end with a tropical number "Bosque" from Bomba Estéreo from their latest album "Elegancia Tropical". Thanks for tuning in!

In the Hopper

Gems from independent artists, record labels and producers! Jeannie Hopper has a long-standing herstory of giving artists a chance to be heard. In her DJ sets and on WBAI's Liquid Sound Lounge, she regularly puts together playlists of under-represented and emerging artists so her loyal following can just sit back and avoid the high-intensity shuffle of sorting through all the beautiful and overwhelming things the Information Age has to offer. Now she brings some of that good stuff to Clocktower Radio (formerly Art International Radio, or, AIR).
