Sian Heder, Tallulah

Tallulah, the domestic tragicomedy starring Ellen Page, Allison Janney, and Tammy Blanchard, was inspired by Sian Heder’s acclaimed 2006 short Mother, which in turn was based on an encounter when she temped as a nanny at high end Beverly Hills hotels. Heder, best known as a writer-producer on Orange is the New Black, explains the decade-long gap before she made her feature directing debut with Tallulah and how she got Zachary Quinto to cameo.
