Olivier Assayas, Something in the Air

50th New York Film Festival Special: Clearly and affectionately tackling the youthful concerns and rebellious attitude of his generation, Olivier Assayas’ latest French language drama Something in the Air brings back the early ‘70s like no other film has ever attempted. In a captivating conversation, Assayas gives his reasons for wanting to give the era’s politics their due, as well as why Something is somewhat fictionalized.
