Miami 2008: Julie Walker: Roving Reports, Part 1

Julie Walker scours the streets, parties and events of Art Basel Miami Beach 2008, engaging artists, curators and otherwisely-engaged Baselians in rapt conversation. With her guests - among them Ron Warren, Director and Partner of Mary Boone Gallery; the somewhat overwhelmed actor Armand Assante; "twin" artists, designers and hopeful maintainers of the social order Andrew Andrew; Frédéric de Narp, President and CEO of Cartier North America, in the Cartier Dome, where David Lynch's Diamonds, Gold and Dreams was located; and Charlie Crist, Governor of Florida - she discusses the atmosphere of the 2008 exhibitions, effects of the economic climate on the art world and the future of the fair (33 minutes).

From 2004-2008, Clocktower Radio was the official art radio station of Art Basel Miami, offering listeners back home and across the globe an exclusive peek at the fair from the point of view of artworld powerhouses, artists, curators, and musicians on the ground. Clocktower Radio was launched by MoMA/PS1 in 2004 as the Web's first art radio station. It has been independent since 2009 and is licensed to host content created under PS1 management.
