DB51: Best of 2014
As with all the previous "Best Of" shows, the title is just a hook to get you in. These are simply some of DB's favorite tracks, remixes and collaborations from the last 12 months. Some of these will be on others "Best Of" lists, but there’s also a lot here that you won't see anywhere else. Here’s over two hours of 2014. DB says there was easily enough inspiring music to do three shows like this. Please write him with any comments or requests to INFO@DJDB.com.
In this program you will hear:
TV On The Radio, Caribou, D.D. Dumbo, Kulkid’s remix of Lana Del Rey, Royce Wood Junior, The Bug, Teleman, Todd Terje, Tom Vek, The National, a breakbeat remix of Burial, The Horrors, Tricky, Faulty DL, Alt J, The Young Fathers, Aphex Twin, Spoon, Machinedrum, The War On Drugs, FKA Twigs, Elbow, Broken Bells, Jungle, Editors, Thom Yorke, SOS, SBTRKT, and James Blake.
As a kid in London, DB used to fall asleep at night with a transistor radio hidden under his pillow. He has been addicted to hearing new music ever since. Here, he brings that music to you.
This is not a music show that's restricted to a particular genre, or even a specific decade, although it has an emphasis on indie rock with electronic elements or electronic music that's not simply for the dance floor. It's a 90-minute mixtape-style show that is as musically open-minded as the musical landscape is wide.
