Ali Banisadr, Tehran to New York

Painter Ali Banisadr sits down to talk about his 2012 exhibition at Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery in Salzburg, titled "We Haven't Landed on Earth Yet." Banisadr talks about growing up in Tehran hearing the blast of shells during the Iran-Iraq war, then moving to California and finally ending up studying in New York at SVA and the New York Academy, an incredible journey! Ali's work is on display at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (through September 3, 2012) in a group show of contemporary Iranian artists from the museum's collection. Also included in the exhibition is past interviewee Shirin Neshat.
