film preservation, archiving the avant garde, and the unique relation of music
to film.

Film-Makers' Cooperative is
the largest archive and distributor of independent and avant-garde films in the
world. Created in 1962 by Jonas Mekas and colleagues, the Co-op continues to be
run by artists. It has more than 5,000 films and videotapes in its collection.
